I've often wondered why more novels and tv shows aren't centred (corner gas the exception) on gas stations. And I like to think I'd be a 'Bill'

Bills are good folk. Though Corner Gas was never my jam, I agree that a gas station is the perfect setting for observing the world. I spent many hours doing computer work and drinking coffee in the restaurant at the 24/7 in Dafoe waiting for the Greyhound (RIP) to Regina.
