Inspired by the poem, More Of This, Please, by Emily Sernaker.
I pick my kid up from a mud puddle a moment after he’s fallen – before he utters “help”. Perhaps even before he’s realized he’s fallen. I set him right and he gets back to the important work of playing. He looks up at me with bright eyes and points to another puddle. It’s a silent request to splash. To get dirtier. To fall in the mud again.

Inside jokes communicated with smiles across a stage. The knowing that exists between collaborators that’s built during rehearsals. During long drives. And performing with new equipment makes the act easier, more precise, more enjoyable.

Meals made and shared with neighbours and friends. Remembering to check in on them. Seeing your son dance when the door opens and he recognizes who’s on the other side, and knowing your friend hasn’t had a great day. Seeing the delight it brings them to be known by a small human. Knowing that they will be there for you when your heart hurts.

Sweeping off the fire escape and moving pots from their winter coves to their summer locations. Pairing down items for a water station to be added for playtime. Thinking of flowers and sunshine and trees in green and breakfasts eaten outside. Of evening with guitars. Of moon slivers tethered closely to the setting sun.

Over the last month I've performed five shows in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and it has felt GOOD. Turns out I really love my job! So…

If you’re interested in putting on a concert, read on! I have capacity for 10 CONCERTS over the months of June, July and August. There are 28 dates below to choose from.
I've been known to make a music venue out of most any space – your living room, garage, back yard, art gallery, movie theatre, cook shack or machine shop could host music for your family, friends or community. I’m open to most anything, so don’t be shy! On Saturday I played the Quill Lakes Interpretive Centre in Wynyard and it was an utter joy. 40 tickets at $30 is what I'm aiming for (or a reasonable equivalent).
These are the dates and conditions, where applicable. Send a message to info@belleplainemusic.com if one suits your fancy.
