unfair reviews
Hi all! My writing mentor, Joyce Belcher, is hosting a one-off True Nature Writing session this Saturday from 9:30 to 11 am. Give it a try for $30. I love writing with her! Here’s the link for more information: https://www.joycebelcher.com/classes
Every Friday night Blake and I pull out the hide-a-bed that I inherited from my Great Aunt Joyce and watch a movie. The evening is known as Fri-da-bed.
Tomorrow is Fri-da-bed. It will go something like this:
At five o’clock I’ll turn on CBC Radio 2 to hear the Deep Dive at Five with Rich Terfry and we’ll prepare and eat supper. At six o’clock I’ll switch over to CJTR to listen to The Bridge and try to get my kid in the tub. If the night is going well, my kid’s asleep by 7:30. Lately, he’s been a master negotiator, so he’ll probably be asleep by nine.
During the bath and bedtime routine, Blake will clean up the kitchen and make up the hide-a-bed. When our tiny human is quiet, we’ll turn on the tv and search for something that hits the mark – nothing that reminds us that our lives were hijacked by a global pandemic and something that supports our delusion that a toddler doesn’t call 90% of the shots around here.
Here’s a short list of movies that we’ve watched, accompanied by completely unfair binary reviews. This is not a judgement call on their goodness, just a pithy comment on my level of enjoyment.
Like I said, completely unfair.
